I have read all four now and all books have been great from first to last page. In fact there are not many books that I read that I do not want the book to end. Your style and graphic descriptions of each scene and its characters take reading to a new dimension. There are not many authors that make you feel this way. I hope Lee you continue to write about Johnny Mann as you are the best author and your books are the best I have read.

Having visited many of the countries involved in your writing I found them even more fascinating as I could picture them so well.
I shall recommend you to all of my friends who enjoy similar authors...it is a joy to find a new author to match the likes of Karin Slaughter, Val McDermid, Mark Billingham etc.

Just finished reading your first book, and looking forward to reading the rest of your creations.

The plot was terrific, really gripping, and, what I liked best about it was that it was finished; not a hangtail ending (I hate those).

Loved it, only complaint is that it kept me up to 6am reading it - well worth the lack of sleep.

I've just finished Death Trip - it was awesome. I love my crime thrillers, I have tried and tested various different authors and hands down, your books are the most gripping and imaginative by far. I love the variety in locations and the attention to detail, very filmic! I may have a slight crush on Mann. His character progression is fasinating and surprising, every stage reveals something more about him - it's hard not to breakdown when he does! I can't wait for your next book, am resorting to 2nd rate authors until it does!

I have just finished reading you latest book Death Trip, i thought it as thoroughly different yet gripping, i just wish i could meet Johnny Mann. The book at times had quite disturbing sections and reminded me of the DVD Deliverance when one of the kids was subjected to rape yet are the Burmese army truly brutal as you write?

Overall i found it difficult to put the book down and the story was exciting from start to finish, i was just like the other two books you wrote.

Please keep writing and am sure the next book will be a great success as the last.

Such a chilling story i was always dying to use it and this was the book to do it in because, sorry to say, once i started to research the Burmese army atrocities and read up on the civil war I was appalled - truly horrible what goes on every minute of every day there and now the Karen are faced with total genocide with the Thai government having made a deal with Burma.

Love your style of writing. Your books are not for the faint hearted, they grip you from start to finish. Keep up the fab work.

Part way through and now reading about the tsunami which is featured early in the book. bought a lump to my throat, very graphic and informative, as if you were there? I worked in Thailand for 6 months assisting with families and the identification and repatriation of victims, it bought it all home to me. Your books are a pleasure to read and your information is well researched, a credit to you as an author.

Bought it as it mentioned Hong Kong in the decription and having visited many times and loving the place thought I would give the book a try :)
Couldnt put it down until I had finished it and all i can think of now is how fast can i get into town to look for your other books and what will i do if i cant find them...eek!!!

Thanks for that. I love Bond films, so am influenced by them - just wanted to make my hero more human,make him like women as friends - never think Bond does. Of course, there's a lot of me in JM- living with scars,never really believing they will find happiness and we share the same sense of rushing in blind when there's trouble. The difference is he can fight his way out and he has the wherewithal to help more people than i would ever. at the end of the day - I guess JM is just someone I would love to exist.

I fell in love with your character and his novels, captivated me from the first pages of The Trophy Taker, am just about finished book 3 Death Trip and cant wait for more. Thought Jacob Arjouni's character Karankaya was my fictional novel hero but he now has a running mate.

Not really a crime thriller fan, but really enjoyed the Trophy Taker, and looking forward to Trafficked and Death trip. I do like your style of writing, with the added bonus for me that se asia and the orient are very close to my heart!

Hi. Just thought i would say that i am currently reading The Trafficked and it is brilliant. It's the first one i have read but i will definately be getting the rest at some point. The weather at the moment is great as it means i can go and sit up on Dartmoor to read and enjoy a couple of hours to myself.

just read the book in german. i loved every page. do you know john burdett? similar scenery and also very good. get inspired. i liked johnny mann. i will keep reading. i love hong kong and you make it a live. hope not everything is true. all the best and good luck. gabriela

I went to Angeles and all my characters are based on pimps I saw in action there and the research I have done. Have a look at my blog with Father Shay. I have only touched the surface - there's so much more - unfortunately. Father Shay always welcomes guests if you can get over there - he is a real life hero.

What a fantastic book! Could not put the book down. Having lived in Hong Kong and being eurasian - I was captivated by the book. Brilliant read.

Purchased this book after a brief trip to Hong Kong and having been a member of Police for many years was addicted to it could not put it down. The excitement of the chase by Det. Insp MANN was brilliant. Many police would haver similar beliefs.

i returned from a holiday to Macau and Hong Kong in the middle of march and was given by a friend a Lee weeks book the trophy taker...as we swap books constantly. I had no idea that it would describe all the wonderful sights and sounds i had just experienced like the peak and the casinos in macau....i literally couldnt put it down and as i turned to the last page i instantly went out and bought the trafficked....where i relived the finger biting tram ride up to the peak in Hong Kong. I love the books and by the way 'how cool is Jonny Mann?????'

just read both books in about 3 days,madness! LOve the setting, i lived in Hong Kong as a child and forgot all the various places that i had been to until reading your books, i lived in Happy valley on the main island,reading the books brought back a lot of memories(of the nice kind of course) and i can really feel myself being back there and can tell you have been there also. Cant wait for the next installement looking forward to being terrified again!

I am not a big fan of reading but read Trophy Taker on honeymoon in 3 days and just finished The trafficked in 2 days they are great books!! Am i the only one who thinks they both would make great films!!!!

Absolutely amazing job u done on this Trafficked book, finished it earlier today and Lee it hit me so much and still thinking about it up to now, i can't believe it happens. I'm a Filipina an i know and seen just exactly what those bar girls do. It hit to the point that i was living with a friend in balibago Angeles(walking distance to fields ave.) September that very same year and i really used to walked on fields avenue day and night and one of my friend is disc jocked to one of the bar u mentioned on the book so i feel being back there and how horrible im thinking that they could have kidnapped me or worse..and on same year it was my british fiance's first visit here, his in zambales that time and i;m from Subic Olongapo. (have u been to Barretto or heared of it?) By the time i was reading the book me and my fiance were checked in to one of the newest beach resort in barretto and believe me, pervs present day, noon and night..disgusting right?. my fiance Dave, feel really bad about this westerners pervs cos his fellow brits. I'm surprise that one of my fave Leonard Cohen is present too LOL, got Suzzane on my ipod hehe! Anyway, was looking for your first book on bookstore here hopefully i could find Trophy Taker there and PLEASEEEEEEEEE more of Mr.Johnny Mann. I picked up trophy taker for something to read on holiday purely as it was far east based and I have a love for the Orient. It was only when reading it that we had another connection and that is like you I originate from Devon (Newton Abbot). I lived in Singapore and Thailand when younger and in the RAF and I contemplated writing a book because we all have a story in us and I did go through the mill out there. I have just finished Trafficked and now look forward to number 3 in the New Year. As I near retirement I toy with the idea of writing the book but I don't thionk I have the patience to do so. May I wish you every success for the future.

i was recently on holiday and took two books one of which was the trophy taker i must admit it was absolutely brilliant i read it in two days as i couldn't put it down i told my partner the storyline then she read it in a day and a half riveting stuff couldnt put it down look forward to johnny Mann's next case when is the next instalment lee?

I read a lot, and I have to say, The Trophy Taker is one of the best books I have read recently. The good characters are very likeable, very good but not sickeningly so. The relationship between Ka Lei and Georgina could have been too much, had it not been so brilliantly written! Detective Mann and his crew were awesome!! Excellent book. Look forward to Lee Weeks further offerings!

Im 27 years old and havent read a book since high school, my girlfriend bought me the Trophy Taker for me to read and OH MY GOD, its fantastic, just over half way through and its absolutely brilliant, i have trouble putting it down. You are my hero Lee thanks so much for this amazing read. Oh and i wouldnt mind getting Georginas number he he he

Just heard you on the Gerry Ryan show (on the internet radio). A fascinating account.
It brought me back to my Hong Kong visit in 1990 when on a trip around thwe world with my wife of the time. Well, there were some wild people, westerners, but luckily all we had together was grass and drink, but I can see how someone could get sucked in to a darker scene. Good you made it out and good luck with the book -must look it up next time I get to an English language bookshop
