Terrific books I have read all four now and all books have been great from first to last page. In fact there are not many books that I read that I do not want the book to end. Your style and graphic descriptions of each scene and its characters take reading to a new dimension. There are not many authors that make you feel this way. I hope Lee you continue to write about Johnny Mann as you are the best author and your books are the best I have read. Posted by Angie on 03 September 2010 Hi, I have just finished reading all of your books in order. I enjoyed them all so much that I just wanted to tell you. Having visited many of the countries involved in your writing I found them even more fascinating as I could picture them so well. I shall recommend you to all of my friends who enjoy similar authors...it is a joy to find a new author to match the likes of Karin Slaughter, Val McDermid, Mark Billingham etc. Johnny Mann is a great character backed up by many others especially Shrimp! Keep up the great work, looking forward to the next one. Thanks Angie Wilcox Posted by angie wilcox on 02 September 2010 Great books I have read all 4 books now and think they are great when I start one cant put it down till it is finished. Keep my name and use the cover by all means. It's all about spreading the message anyway we can. Posted by sunny flaig on 30 June 2010 The Trophy Taker Hi Lee Just finished reading your first book, and looking forward to reading the rest of your creations. The plot was terrific, really gripping, and, what I liked best about it was that it was finished; not a hangtail ending (I hate those). Loved it, only complaint is that it kept me up to 6am reading it - well worth the lack of sleep. Cheers Joe Posted by Joe on 20 June 2010 hi Lee remember me? Posted by David Lawton on 03 May 2010 My Favourite Author Dear Lee I've just finished Death Trip - it was awesome. I love my crime thrillers, I have tried and tested various different authors and hands down, your books are the most gripping and imaginative by far. I love the variety in locations and the attention to detail, very filmic! I may have a slight crush on Mann. His character progression is fasinating and surprising, every stage reveals something more about him - it's hard not to breakdown when he does! I can't wait for your next book, am resorting to 2nd rate authors until it does! Many Thanks and please dont stop. Sophia Posted by Sophia Robinson on 26 April 2010 Different yet supeb I have just finished reading you latest book Death Trip, i thought it as thoroughly different yet gripping, i just wish i could meet Johnny Mann. The book at times had quite disturbing sections and reminded me of the DVD Deliverance when one of the kids was subjected to rape yet are the Burmese army truly brutal as you write? Overall i found it difficult to put the book down and the story was exciting from start to finish, i was just like the other two books you wrote. Please keep writing and am sure the next book will be a great success as the last. hi Richie. I am glad you appreciate that all the books are different - i aim to do it. Thank you for spotting my 'homage' to deliverance! Such a chilling story i was always dying to use it and this was the book to do it in because, sorry to say, once i started to research the Burmese army atrocities and read up on the civil war I was appalled - truly horrible what goes on every minute of every day there and now the Karen are faced with total genocide with the Thai government having made a deal with Burma. Posted by Richie Rich on 19 March 2010 Love your style of writing. Your books are not for the faint hearted, they grip you from start to finish. Keep up the fab work. Posted by Nicola on 27 February 2010 Your books Just finished The Trafficked. Could hardly put it down. You write so well and nothing is spared. Gut wrenching but really makes you think. Leex Posted by Angie on 15 November 2009 Characters Hi Lee, Just started reading your Johnny Mann novels, on second novel at the moment. Just a sill and simple question: one of your characters is called Ng how exactly would we pronounce that name? Did spend a short time in Hong Kong several years ago and everything I saw and my short time there has been encapsulated in your novels, bravo. Hi Mike. Thanks for getting in touch. Pronounce Ng as Ung. Posted by Mike Evans on 11 November 2009 all of your books Have now read two of your books and onto the third. Part way through and now reading about the tsunami which is featured early in the book. bought a lump to my throat, very graphic and informative, as if you were there? I worked in Thailand for 6 months assisting with families and the identification and repatriation of victims, it bought it all home to me. Your books are a pleasure to read and your information is well researched, a credit to you as an author. Posted by Angie on 10 November 2009 Twitter Hi Lee, loved The Trafficked - really good reading. Can't wait for the next. The Florida holiday in 2010 is now not on the agenda..have told the other half we must go back to the Far East - again :) Posted by Sarah Cook on 11 September 2009 your books hi lee i read your book the trafficked and could not put it down though some parts were difficult to read.i instantly fell in love with johnny Mann.is he based on anyone?having read about your life growing up and experiences in hong kong it sound like something from a book itself.you must be a very strong person and i admire you for coming out as successfully as you have on the other side.i look forward to reading your 1st and 3rd books and hope you crack on with the 4th 5th 6th...... Hi Jo Thanks for that. I love Bond films, so am influenced by them - just wanted to make my hero more human, make him like women as friends - never think Bond does. Of course, there's a lot of me in JM- living with scars, never really believing they will find happiness and we share the same sense of rushing in blind when there's trouble. The difference is he can fight his way out and he has the wherewithal to help more people than i would ever. at the end of the day - I guess JM is just someone I would love to exist. Posted by jo on 04 September 2009 trophy taker I picked this book up at a car boot sale. I was hooked from the start. Now want to buy "The Trafficked" and "Death Trip". I also live in exeter and was really surprised to see that you live here too, thanks again for a great read elaine Posted by elaine on 10 May 2009 trafficked I bought your book which I am currently reading, not for the story as such, but to help me gain an insight into the victims of this evil trade. Maybe its a coincidence some of the names and descriptions of certain characters 'appear' to be quite real? Reply- Hi Francine I went to Angeles and all my characters are based on pimps I saw in action there and the research I have done. Have a look at my blog with Father Shay. I have only touched the surface - there's so much more - unfortunately. Father Shay always welcomes guests if you can get over there - he is a real life hero. Absolutely amazing job u done on this Trafficked book, finished it earlier today and Lee it hit me so much and still thinking about it up to now, i can't believe it happens. I'm a Filipina an i know and seen just exactly what those bar girls do. It hit to the point that i was living with a friend in balibago Angeles(walking distance to fields ave.) September that very same year and i really used to walked on fields avenue day and night and one of my friend is disc jocked to one of the bar u mentioned on the book so i feel being back there and how horrible im thinking that they could have kidnapped me or worse..and on same year it was my british fiance's first visit here, his in zambales that time and i;m from Subic Olongapo. (have u been to Barretto or heared of it?) By the time i was reading the book me and my fiance were checked in to one of the newest beach resort in barretto and believe me, pervs present day, noon and night..disgusting right?. my fiance Dave, feel really bad about this westerners pervs cos his fellow brits. Leex Posted by karina on 11 May 2008 excellent I read a lot, and I have to say, The Trophy Taker is one of the best books I have read recently. The good characters are very likeable, very good but not sickeningly so. The relationship between Ka Lei and Georgina could have been too much, had it not been so brilliantly written! Detective Mann and his crew were awesome!! Excellent book. Look forward to Lee Weeks further offerings! reply: thank you so much. its lovely to hear.Lee Posted by maria on 10 May 2008 The Trophy Taker What can I say except "So so good and I also cannot put the book down - page after page after page of brilliance" You do have the gift so please keep writing some more Posted by Anna Moroz on 06 May 2008 Trophy Taker Im 27 years old and havent read a book since high school, my girlfriend bought me the Trophy Taker for me to read and OH MY GOD, its fantastic, just over half way through and its absolutely brilliant, i have trouble putting it down. A fascinating account. It brought me back to my Hong Kong visit in 1990 when on a trip around thwe world with my wife of the time. Well, there were some wild people, westerners, but luckily all we had together was grass and drink, but I can see how someone could get sucked in to a darker scene. Good you made it out and good luck with the book -must look it up next time I get to an English language bookshop Regards from Finland Paul (Irish) ps. you have a nice laugh Posted by Paul on 07 April 2008 thanks so much. it was a weird and wonderful experience. hope you like the book when you get it. x Posted by on 11 April 2008 Congrats!!!
